Give each image a job: subject, style, setting or layout. A clear division of roles makes your next edit easier to control.
Open the reference editor
Choose one sharp image of the person or product that must stay recognizable. Avoid tiny subjects and heavily cropped edges.
Use a second image for the setting or style. More references are not automatically better; remove images that disagree on lighting or identity.
Use @image1 for the subject, @image2 for setting or style in your prompt. Flux Context displays the reference limit for your chosen model.
Upload the product first and the setting second.
Use the product from @image1 and the setting from @image2. Keep the product color and shape. Match the scene lighting and camera angle, with realistic contact shadows. Do not introduce extra products.
Separate appearance from identity in your instructions.
Keep the subject and framing of @image1. Use only the color palette and lighting mood from @image2. Do not copy its objects or replace the main subject.
In multi-reference editing, explicitly state which image defines the subject and what must stay unchanged. Remove extra images that compete with that reference.
Choose one lighting direction and ask for contact shadows. References with very different camera angles or light sources are harder to combine.
